Research Technician

Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator in the Laboratories of Computational Neuroimaging the Research Technician will be working in a fast-paced computational neuroimaging lab. The lab develops and maintains software for MR image analysis and works primarily in a UNIX environment. The lab is also responsible for several in vivo and ex vivo (human) MRI projects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities: In order of importance, list essential areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. Maintains electronic laboratory notebook
Understands and applies basic scientific techniques
MRI data post-processing: running already existing tools to analyze the data
Quality checking on experiment outcomes and manually fixing errors as well as manually outlining regions of interests
Assist the PI(s) with determining the most suitable methodology
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: This section should be a bulleted list of minimum requirements explaining the skills (what the individual is trained for) and competencies (measurable as defined by the job) necessary to perform the job.
Able to work independently, show initiative, confidence in making decisions, able to multitask, not easily stressed, and one who is not easily discouraged by failed experiments but enjoys a challenge.
Prepared for some minor work on weekends (with the ability to have a flexible schedule during the week).

Working knowledge of data management programs
Demonstrated competence in research techniques and methodologies
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: Experience in data analysis, imaging, histology and neuroanatomy preferred
New graduates with some lab experience (via course work, internships, etc.) or those without any prior research experience will be considered for the Research Technician I position outlined above.
Those with a minimum of 1 year of directly related work experience will be considered for a Research Technician II position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work performed on-site at the A.A. Martinos enter for Biomedical Imaging located at Bldg. 149, 13th St., Charlestown, MAEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
