Job Summary Works under the direction of supervisor, engineer, class A splicer or others making splices and terminations of 600-volt D.

Performs all work related to cable splicing for installation, removal, and maintenance of the underground and overhead distribution system including the operation of disconnect switches.
Undertakes and completes assignments occasionally with assistance of other employees.
Duties & Responsibilities Works in the cable crew, performing necessary rigging to remove and install various size cables Performs maintenance and repair of conduit and duct banks in underground electrical vaults.
Works with a splicer's helper inspecting and maintaining and maintaining manholes Acts as a member of the test crew, testing, phasing, breaking down joints, and cutting cables Works with 650 volts or less D.

Operates various Authority equipment including jack hammers, cable cutters, torch and electrical testing equipment.
Installs terminals, pulling eyes, and end caps on all types of Authority cables.
Performs all duties assigned Minimum Requirements & Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent (G.

) from an accredited institution with the ability to comprehend, communicate and respond to instructions, orders, signs, notices, inquiries, etc.

Mechanical ability and knowledge of basic tools, equipment, and procedures applicable to cable splicing activities as normally acquired through a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Laborer, General Helper, or in a related position.
