Research Technologist

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Applicant will work on one of several recently funded projects that study different aspects of the innate immune response of mice, humans, and other species to severe bacterial infections.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Manage assays of protein and immunochemistry, cell culture, cytokine assays, and molecular biology.
May develop modifications of existing assay techniques, experimental protocols, or new
procedures.
Synthesizes and interprets results.
Prepares written and/or verbal status reports.
Uses statistical and graphic summaries.
Orients and trains new Research Technicians and Fellows.
Executes protocols of non-routine experiments
With the PI, determines the most suitable methodologies
Participates in the design of complex experiments
Presents and report's findings from advanced experiments at lab meetings
Develop and execute new pilot projects in the lab
Train staff how to maintain lab equipment
Prepare data for grants and manuscripts
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Excellent communication skills
Ability to learn new techniques
Sound interpersonal skills and, eventually, the ability to supervise others
Ability to work independently and display initiative to introduce Innovations to research study
Ability to prepare/monitor budgets
Ability to identify problems and develop solutions
Ability to prioritize tasks and set deadlines
Functions with speed, precision and an understanding of theory behind tests and procedures.
Experience:
Required: 3 years of directly related and progressively more related experience required, including previous laboratory experience in immunochemistry, protein chemistry, protein purification, cell culture, and molecular biology
Bachelor's degree required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Position does not involve any special physical requirements. Employee will receive thorough laboratory and biohazardous training as required for working in research lab. Projects are engaging and goal-oriented and will involve working as part of a team in a diverse research group.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
