SRH - Polysomnography Technician

Summary
Perform polysomnography diagnostic overnight or daytime testing for patients with suspected sleep apnea.
Key Responsibilities
PSG recordings are consistently high quality.
Polysomnography equipment is used per organization guidelines.
Technical use of CPAP, BiPAP, and ASV titration are in accordance with organization procedures.
Serves as a resource for other health care team members on sleep related issues.
Documentation is completed in accordance with quality, financial, and other regulatory requirements.
Care and emotional support is provided to patients and families as it relates to the procedures and results of sleep studies.
Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.

Education/Degree/Licensure
Required
Graduate of an accredited sleep lab training program required.
Registered with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
Preferred
Respiratory Therapy certification and Polysomnography Certification preferred.
Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.)
Required
Minimum 2-5 years sleep testing experience preferably in physician office outpatient clinic setting.
Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients. Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background.
Ability to work independently through an entire night shift with minimal supervisory oversight.
Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
