Summary
The Development Intern, Special Events is a member of a dynamic team, focused on fundraising initiatives to support Partners Continuing Cares (PCC) network events. PCC is seeking an energetic team player with a flexible work style, interested in special events and fundraising in accordance with the PCC Network and the hospitals' missions.
This internship is project-oriented and will support the Special Events team with various event tasks, focusing on the Spaulding Professionals Council, Winterfest, Race for Rehab Boston Marathon Program, Partners HealthCare at Home Annual Tee-Off, Tee-Off with Tedy Golf Tournament, and All A-Board supporting Spaulding's Adaptive Sports Program.
This internship is designed as a for-credit position, working with a college professor/department with specific guidelines for success and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the solicitation of auction items for PCC fundraising events, as well as write up detailed auction descriptions for all events
Prepare for event committee meetings and assist with note taking and follow-up
Research comparable fundraising events to identify trends and new ideas in the following areas, but not limited to: auctions, community events, decor, activities, themes, tastings, etc.
Manage mailing of Race for Rehab team gear and sold auction items post event
Assist with Race for Rehab team runs, and runner events
Research in-kind vendors to enhance event production
Facilitate various administrative duties, as well as assist with occasional evening and weekend events
Participate in pre-and post-event organization, including event materials inventory and administrative tasks
Assist with organizing event material packets for third party events
Attend monthly Development staff meetings and other event meetings as requested
Attend all signature fundraising events, including: Winterfest, Race for Rehab Boston Marathon events, Partners HealthCare at Home Tee Off, Tee Off with Tedy and All A-Board
Works closely with the Special Events Team as well as other key individuals throughout the Development Department and the hospital network
Works within established timeframes and adhere to deadlines

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
